THE FIVE GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF RACIAL UNITY

At the heart of a commitment to racial harmony is the cross of Christ. The gospel is the only message that achivenes true and genuine unity among human being because the cross alone, has overcome all that divides us.  Methods, messages, and strategies that do not have Christ as center and supreme are destructive and distracting. The history of the United States has proven that outside of Christ we only preserve chaos and confusion.

The Cross of Christ, alone, is the solution. Therefore, we believe and teach that racial harmony is

“The intermingling of all that is right, true and biblical within various cultures

for the purposes of a fuller expression of the glory of God in the church and in the world.”

From this definition we derive the five guiding principles below.

Principle #1

The design of God in redemptive history is, and always has been, the display of His glory in the united diversity of His Bride.

Principle #2

Anything that is considered beneficial from any culture must be considered as such only when it is Christ-centered

Principle #3

The church is to be a witness and leader in the world on the issue of race relations by demonstrating in her unity the essence of true unity, Jesus Christ

Principle #4

Racial harmony is community specific, and heart felt

Principle #5

Racial harmony is a call to leave one’s culture for Christ

" But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God" (Acts 20:24)

"May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God" (Romans 15:5–7)

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,...(Revelation 7:9)
